One cannot forget the selflessness of his Holiness in the cause of Islam in the days when Islam was threatened from all sides. On the night when the ungodly were going to attack the house of the Prophet of God and kill him, the great prophet told Ali (PBUH) that the enemies were going to attack his house and God ordered him to leave Medina and Ali to lie down in the bed of his holiness. Ali happily agreed.
Ali said: – O Messenger of God! If I lie in your bed, will you be able to keep yourself out of harm’s way? The prophet answered: – Yes.
Ali fell on his knees and praised Allah and said: – So I will be your sacrifice, I will do everything you want, and I ask God Almighty for success.
In all battles, Ali was always next to the prophet and took upon himself all the dangers that threatened his sanctity.
In wisdom and knowledge, he was similar to his holiness the great prophet, and so that, it seemed, he was a reflection of the prophet.
The great prophet said: “I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is the gate to this city, whoever wants to enter it, let him enter through the door,” and also “Ali is always with Allah and Allah is always with Ali, and they are unclear, what Ali says is the truth and the path that will indicate the path of truth.”
Although the question of the power and succession of the great prophet was the undoubted right of Ali and after the death of the great prophet this right was taken from him by force, but Ali, for the sake of preserving the foundations of Islam during the 25 years spent outside his rightful rights, prevented the emergence of factions among Muslims and, in as a result, the destruction of the main principles of the religion by the enemies of Islam. On the contrary, during all this time he supported Islam and Muslims in all kinds of ways and did not give up the necessary orientation at the right moments. In the 35th year of the lunar Hijra, Muslims swore allegiance to him as the caliph and ruler of Muslims. His reign lasted five years and in the month of Ramadan in the fortieth year of the Hijra of Muslims, he was martyred in the Kufi mosque, may Allah protect him. His sacred mausoleum is located in the Iraqi city of Nejafi.
An excerpt from the will of the Emir of the Orthodox Ali to his son Imam Hasan: “Pray early in the morning and pay the evening meal on time (tax for the benefit of the poor and orphans – trans.). In any state of mind, in joy and anger, observe justice and balance. love the poor and talk to them.
Son, serve in the way of the Lord and do not forget the commandments and abstinence from evil. With your brothers in faith, be a brother for the sake of Allah. In any circumstances, do not forget about God, be kind and gentle with children, respect the elderly, do not eat food before you give part of it as alms in the way of the Lord.
