Ashura

Today, the world celebrates the 10th day of the month of Muharram – the day of Ashura. In the month of Muharram, mourning ceremonies are held in connection with the death of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussain, and members of his family. They were killed in 61 AH in Karbala. Muharram, which began this year on July 19 according to the Gregorian calendar, will end on August 17. The month of Safar will begin on August 18 and end on September 16.
