The month of Rajab

This month is the seventh month of the lunar calendar. The name “Rajab” itself is derived from the word “ar-rujub”, which means “exaltation”. It was in the month of Rajab that Allah Almighty transferred the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Quds, after which the Messenger of Allah was ascended to heaven in Miraj. In 2025, the first day of the month of Rajab falls on January 2.
Rajab not only begins a series of three blessed months (Rajab, Sha’ban, Ramadan), but is also one of the four forbidden months (Rajab, Dhul-Qa’da, Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram), in which the Almighty forbade wars and conflicts.
