On February 23, in order to commemorate the Khojaly tragedy and the memory of the Heroes of the Ukrainian-Russian war, a requiem evening “They remain forever in our memory” was held in Lviv. This was announced by the head of the Department of Youth and Sports at UCAU Shagriyar Maharramov. The requiem evening was organized by the United Congress of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine.

“On such an important day, we want to remember all the innocently killed civilians of the city of Khojaly, as well as honor the memory of the Azerbaijanis and Ukrainians who died for the freedom of Ukraine. The event took place at the Lviv Palace of Arts at Lviv” noted Shagriyar Maharramov.

On February 26, all progressive humanity sadly remembers the victims of the Khojaly tragedy – the massacre of the Azerbaijani civilian population, which was committed in 1992 during the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. 31 years ago, in the small Azerbaijani town of Khojali, a real genocide was committed – 613 civilians were killed, including 63 children and 106 women, another 1275 residents were captured, where they were subjected to abuse and torture. The Khojaly tragedy became one of the first and most widespread war crimes in the post-Soviet space.
