International Conference of Religious Leaders in Malaysia

Malaysia will host the International Conference of Religious Leaders and the Conference of Asian Religious Scholars. According to Prime Minister for Religious Affairs Mohd Naeem Mokhtar, the International Conference of Religious Leaders will be held on May 7, and the Conference of Asian Religious Scholars on May 8. Mokhtar noted that the purpose of the conference is to strengthen the spirit of harmony between representatives of different faiths and “create a solid foundation to meet the current reality of multi-religious societies, allowing them to interact harmoniously to maintain social cohesion and unity.” Both events are aimed at uniting common values, developing a common vision of the world, countering extremist ideologies and establishing dialogue, the politician said. About 1,500 people will take part in the conference of religious leaders, and its theme will be “Unity in Diversity.” The conference of Asian religious scholars has 200 participants from Asian countries, its theme is “Unity.”
