Muslims celebrate one of the main holidays – Eid al-Fitr
Eid al-Fitr is the holiday of breaking the fast, breaking the fast for Muslims. On this day, the fast of the holy month of Ramadan ends.
The date of the celebration changes every year, since the Muslim world is guided by the lunar calendar. In 2025, Eid al-Fitr will fall on March 30 – 31 – this is the first day of the month of Shawwal according to the Hijri calendar.
The central meaning of this holiday is praise of the God, gratitude to the Creator for giving believers the opportunity to pass this test to the end, to purify themselves spiritually and physically. On this day, Muslims pronounce takbirs – words of exaltation of the God and read the festive prayer.
The celebration of Eid al-Fitr is always accompanied by the giving of alms for breaking the fast in favor of the poor – Zakat-ul-fitr (fast-breaking tax). Those Muslims who have enough money for everything they need for themselves and their families pay alms.
