Birth of Fatimah al-Zahra
According to the Hijri calendar, the 20th day of the month of Jumada al-Thani is the birthday of Fatimah al-Zahra.
On this day, which is commemorated with great reverence throughout the Islamic world, the beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad was born — the one about whom a divine glad tidings is given in the surah al-Kawthar. Various celebratory gatherings are held on this blessed occasion.
According to religious sources, Fatimah al-Zahra is regarded in Islamic history as a symbol of purity, piety, and justice. Her birth is considered by Muslim communities as a day of spiritual renewal and unity, and is also observed as the “Day of the Muslim Woman.”
In many Islamic countries, special events and charitable programs are organized in honor of this occasion.
