25 Shawwal, the sixth Imam of Muslims, Imam Jafar Sadiq, became a martyr
The Imam was born in 83 AH on the 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal. He was 34 years old when his father, Imam Baghir, became a martyr. From that moment on, for 31 years, he was the Imam of Muslims, making every effort to convey the true essence of the Quran to humanity. As a result of incredible heroism and patience, the Imam was able to establish the first center of learning in Islam in Medina. People from all over the world came to Medina to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from the Imam. They received information not only about true Islam, but also about worldly sciences. At different times, the Imam had about 4 thousand students. He nurtured many prominent scientists in various fields of science. Imam Jafar Sadiq was poisoned by order of the Abbasid Caliph Mansur and became a martyr on the 25th day of the month of Shawwal in 148 AH.
