Germany’s most authoritative Muslim leader has spoken about the “atmosphere of fear” prevailing in the country since the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. “In a matter of weeks, we have seen more attacks on mosques than ever before. We see attacks on Muslims and those who look like Muslims with an unprecedented frequency,” said the head of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Maziek, at a press conference in Berlin, Anadolu Agency quoted. According to Maziek, he is extremely concerned that Muslims in Germany are at risk of facing massacres, as in the US state of Vermont, where three Palestinians were shot for wearing the kufiya. It is worth noting that earlier this month, the German government expressed concern about the rise in Islamophobic attacks since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza.
