The Birth Anniversary of Imam Ali al-Naqi (al-Hadi)
This year, June 1, corresponding to the 15th of Dhu al-Hijjah, marks the birth anniversary of the tenth Imam of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt, Imam Ali al-Naqi (al-Hadi), who is renowned for his knowledge, piety, and spiritual leadership.
Imam al-Hadi was born in 212 AH in the area of Surayya near the city of Medina. He was the son of the ninth Imam, Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (Imam al-Jawad), and the father of the eleventh Imam, Imam Hasan al-Askari. From an early age, Imam al-Hadi became known for his profound knowledge, noble character, and divine wisdom, playing an important role in the dissemination of Islamic sciences.
Although his period of Imamate coincided with the complex political circumstances of the Abbasid Caliphate, Imam al-Hadi made significant efforts to preserve religious teachings and strengthen faith and moral values. Among the valuable works associated with his name are important texts of the Ahl al-Bayt heritage, including Ziyarat al-Jami‘ah al-Kabirah and Ziyarat al-Ghadiriyyah.
