The Azerbaijani city of Shusha has been chosen as the tourism capital in 2026

Shusha has been chosen as the tourism capital of the OES in 2026. The decision was made following the results of the 5th meeting of tourism ministers of the EU countries in the city of Ardebil in Iran, the Report agency reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism and measures necessary for further strengthening of relations in this field were discussed.
According to the results of the vote, the city of Shusha was chosen as the tourism capital of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development of the OES in 2026.
The decision was also enshrined in the Ardebil Declaration, adopted at the end of the meeting.
As the agency notes, within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the organization in 2023, the 7th meeting of high-level tourism experts and the 5th meeting of the UES tourism ministers were held in the city of Ardebil. Azerbaijan was presented at the events by the delegation of the State Tourism Agency.
